Biography

Jeanette is a Clinical Psychologist with a Master of Psychology (Clinical), jointly awarded by the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the University of Melbourne. She is a registered psychologist and approved supervisor with the Singapore Psychological Society, and a full member of the Australian Psychological Society.

Jeanette has extensive experience working with adolescents and young people who are navigating emotional, behavioural and relational difficulties. In her previous role as a Senior Clinical Psychologist at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), she worked with youths experiencing trauma and stress-related difficulties, mood and anxiety concerns, self-esteem and identity struggles, obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD), and unusual or distressing experiences such as hearing voices or feeling highly suspicious of others.

She understands that adolescence can be a challenging period, especially when young people feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or pressured by expectations at school, at home, or within themselves. Jeanette takes a gentle, respectful and collaborative approach, creating a safe space where adolescents can feel heard and supported at their own pace. She aims to make therapy a place where young people do not feel judged or pressured, and where their feelings and experiences are taken seriously.

In therapy, Jeanette works flexibly and thoughtfully, drawing from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), depending on each young person’s needs. Her work is trauma-informed and attentive to emotional safety, helping adolescents better understand their experiences, develop coping skills, and build confidence and resilience over time.

Jeanette values working collaboratively with families when appropriate, recognising the important role that caregivers play in a young person’s wellbeing, while also respecting adolescents’ need for privacy, autonomy and trust in therapy. Parents often appreciate her calm, thoughtful approach and her ability to support young people while maintaining clear communication and professional boundaries.

She is deeply committed to training and supervision, having served as an Adjunct Lecturer at NUS (2023–2025) and provided supervision and mentorship to psychology trainees and clinicians. Her clinical work is informed by research and a strong commitment to high-quality care.

Outside of work, Jeanette enjoys exploring food, travel and different cultures. Having lived in Hong Kong and Australia as well as Singapore, she is attuned to cross-cultural and transitional challenges, and values working with both local and international clients.

Jeanette provides therapy in English and Mandarin, and also speaks basic Hokkien.

Early Detection Saves Lives

- Let’s Talk Gut Health

Endoscopy is a medical procedure which provides a clear
picture of your oesophagus, stomach, duodenum and colon.
This allows the doctor to assess your gut health and diagnose
digestive conditions, as well as screen for gastrointestinal cancers.

Recent reports show a rise in early-onset cancer amongst younger adults, sometimes withoutvisible symptoms, and it is highly treatable when detected early.
