Biography

Hui Yu is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Singapore Register of Psychologists (SRP). She holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology from the National University of Singapore.

With a strong belief in early intervention, Hui Yu is passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and their families through life’s emotional and developmental challenges. She has worked across a range of settings, including hospitals, early intervention centres, and the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), where she collaborated closely with young clients, parents, and educators.

Hui Yu provides therapy and assessments for children and teens experiencing low mood, anxiety, school refusal, bullying, Obsessive-Compulsive behaviours, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and adjustment difficulties. She has a particular interest in helping young people build emotional resilience, navigate grief and loss, and strengthen their sense of self.

Hui Yu tailors her approach to each child’s unique needs, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness strategies. Her therapy sessions are grounded in warmth, safety, and just the right touch of playfulness to engage children meaningfully in the process.

Believing strongly in the importance of family involvement, Hui Yu works closely with parents and caregivers as part of a holistic support plan. She integrates parenting strategies, including The Incredible Years framework, to help families better understand and support their child’s emotional and behavioural needs. She also collaborates with schools to promote consistency across home and learning environments.

In addition to therapy, Hui Yu conducts psychoeducational assessments to guide special education placements and support school accommodations for learning and exams.

Outside of the clinic, Hui Yu enjoys nature walks, swimming, and sharing meaningful conversations with her loved ones. She is always curious about the world, seeking new experiences, from campervan adventures to a day as a film extra!

Hui Yu provides therapy and assessments in English and Mandarin.

Early Detection Saves Lives

- Let’s Talk Gut Health

Endoscopy is a medical procedure which provides a clear
picture of your oesophagus, stomach, duodenum and colon.
This allows the doctor to assess your gut health and diagnose
digestive conditions, as well as screen for gastrointestinal cancers.

Recent reports show a rise in early-onset cancer amongst younger adults, sometimes withoutvisible symptoms, and it is highly treatable when detected early.
