How it Works:

Examines the lower gastrointestinal tract (eg. colon and rectum) through insertion of a colonoscope through the anus


Examines the upper gastrointestinal tract (eg. oesophagus, stomach and small intestines) through insertion of a gastroscope through the mouth


Useful for Screening:

- Colorectal cancer
- Polyp
- Tumors
- Inflammatory bowel diseases


- Gastroesophageal reflux diseases
- Peptic ulcers

- Esophageal or stomach cancer


Who Should Screen:

Individuals who experience:
- Abdominal pain
- Constant fatigue
- Changes in bowel habits (eg. consistent diarrhoea/constipation)
- Presence of blood/mucus in the stool
- Severe/unexplained weight loss

Individuals who:
- Are 50 years old and above
- Have a family history of colorectal cancer and/or polyps

Individuals who experience:
- Abdominal pain
- Difficulties swallowing
