Dr Lidia Suárez is a Clinical Psychologist practising psychology in Singapore. Originally from Spain, Lidia brings to bear in her clinical practice her considerable experience in the rigorous academic and scientific study of psychology. Dr Lidia was previously the Academic Head of Psychology & Education at James Cook University Singapore (JCU-S).
Returning to the active practice of clinical psychology after a successful career as an academic and researcher, Lidia has experience in providing psychotherapy for presentations such as depression, anger, personality disorders, social anxiety, somatic symptom disorder, bipolar disorder, health anxiety, interpersonal relationship problems.
Trained in a variety of psychotherapies, Lidia employs an eclectic approach to therapy, picking from and using based on a client’s unique presentation from therapies such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Schema Therapy.
As an effective bilingual psychologist with working experiences in Spain and Singapore, Lidia is attuned and sensitive to the cultural differences at play during psychotherapy. In her spare time, one may find it difficult to pry Lidia away from her passions of scientific research, the practice of mindfulness, and showering her two dogs with love and affection.
